Property building in Mizingani Seafront Hotel
The Mizingani Seafront Hotel was built in 1865 as a Royal Honeymoon Palace. The building became the Customs House in 1928, later falling into disrepair. It was restored and reopened as a hotel in September 2014. It's a beautiful Olde Worlde building that oozes charm and character. Our room was on the third floor, and it was quite a climb up three flights of steep wooden stairs, in all, some 54 steps. The room was large and spacious with good, quiet air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bed was firm but comfortable, with firm pillows too. There was a small fridge with a large, complimentary bottle of water. Lighting was adequate, but not bright. The small, modern bathroom had a large, proper shower cubicle with a rain and hand shower. There was a swish, modern hairdryer with razor adapter plugs. There were a reasonable array of toiletries. Our room was serviced daily, and the water and toiletries were replenished. The inclusive breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of choices. There was plenty of freshly brewed filter coffee. The view of the bay from our breakfast table was stunning. The central swimming pool was magnificent, with clear blue water, and nice and warm too. We fell upon this hotel by luck, using booking.com. It's the best hotel we've used in Tanzania. We definitely enjoyed our two-night stay, which increased to seven nights.

A great stay!! The most amazing, attentive and client foccussed team!!! We faced significant challenges with the lost of a bank card on arrival, however, the unwavering care, dedication and support we received from the personal involvement of the manager, taking us to the bank, in his own vehicle, the very friendly and helpful reception staff who continuously followed up and gave feedback was most impressive!!!! Our sincere and a huge thanks to Msellem Msafoum, guest relations, who totally understands the hospitality industry, and the value of clients recommending and returning to your hotel. He even came in on his off day to check on us! Thank you sooooooo much Mr Fish, you are a true asset to the hotel!!! Breakfasts offered a wide variety with many options!

Mizingani Seafront is pure magic! The authentic Swahili vibe, the stunning views of the beach, ships docking, and boats—it’s beyond words. And the location? Perfect! Everything in Stone Town is just a stroll away. (Whatever you do, do not miss going to the fish market at night) But the best part? I casually mentioned it was my birthday, and they surprised me with a cake and the sweetest staff singing “Happy Birthday” as soon as I walked into my room. (All this was on the house) It was such a beautiful moment! So much love from strangers - I teared up. Really touched my heart. Thank you for making my stay unforgettable, Mizingani Seafront! ❤️

The first impression was the staff, really smiley and friendly Than they made our stay even more special by upgrading our room as we were celebrating our honeymoon, we enter and we see the bed full of flowers and the aircon on so we would feel a cold air from the extreme heat outside The pool area was so cosy and well designed The breakfast was excellent and one of the best breakfast buffet I've ever experienced This hotel and the staff know hospitality and make the guest feel special The restaurant had amazing chefs and the sunset views from the restaurant are magical

The location is excellent. Close to the harbour, About 350 meters from Darajani Market and 500m from Foradhani Food Gardens. We were told that this hotel is part of 4 renovated hotels (Dhow palace, Tembo House and 1 other). Breakfast was excellent with lots on offer. Aircon worked like a charm. We were lucky that the family apartment we booked was right next to the upper deck which had a pool table and a massive screen TV. This makes this apartment have the largest balcony as that portion is rarely used by other guests. Staff were friendly and really helpful
